METEORITE INFORMATION
So where do meteorites come from? They have been floating around in space since the formation of our solar system. Meteorites are believed to come from the asteroid belt between the planets Mars and Jupiter. Every now and then asteroids will collide and send pieces of rock and iron flying towards Earth. Earth’s gravitational field pulls these pieces in once they get close. When they impact our planet they become meteorites.
