The Alamo breccia was created about 367 million years ago when a large asteroid slammed into a shallow sea in southeastern Nevada. The sea floor was crushed and thrown up into the air. Huge tsunamis were created and a huge crater was formed. As the material was falling back to earth the tsunamis were mixing it and re depositing it into the form we see in the rock today. A very beautiful and interesting mix of materials and colors. This rock is not a meteorite and as far as I know, none of the meteorite remains or has ever been found. This breccia is related to meteorites in the sense that a meteorite is what made it. Evidence of large impacts in our past, and a great addition to any meteorite or mineral collection
